Jeff Lemieux tweeted within the last hour that Steve Ralston‘s dislocated elbow, suffered less than a week after his re-signing with the Revolution, will keep him out of action for about a month.

Ralston played two minutes in New England’s exhibition against Brazilian club Cruzeiro on Sunday. The match drew about 12,000 fans on a day dominated by the Celtics regionally and the World Cup from a soccer-niche perspective, and cost the Revs the only help it could find in the midfield. In hosting an international friendly against Brazil’s SC Cruzeiro at Gillette Stadium, the Revolution had two goals: to return Steve Ralston and Matt Reis to the field, and to not suffer any injuries.

Reis got the start and made two saves and gave up one goal against Brazil’s powerhouse crew, who would go on to defeat New England 3-0. He was replaced at halftime by Bobby Shuttleworth, who gave up two second half strikes. A source tells 6S1B that he looked comfortable in net and was moving well.
