The Revolution today waived midfielder Mauricio Castro, who had been with the club since 2008.

The Revolution parted ways with Mauricio Castro today.

Castro made 30 appearances and 25 starts with New England but had not played yet this season.  He missed much of the early season with an ankle injury.

Revs Director of Soccer Mike Burns said, “We want to thank Mauricio for his time with us, and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

With the Revs now just over twenty-four hours from hosting FC Dallas at Gillette Stadium, let’s take a look at the club’s injury report, released today.

Mauricio Castro and Zak Boggs are both good to go.  Castro has yet to see action this season.  Boggs missed last week’s contest against Colorado.  With Shalrie Joseph (now removed from the list) out indefinitely, both players will provide useful depth in the midfield.

The Revolution have released this week’s early injury report.  The club released the report after its first day of training in preparation for its Saturday match against FC Dallas.

Mauricio Castro has been upgraded to probable.  Castro, out with an ankle issue, has not yet played this season.  Zak Boggs is also listed as probable after missing Saturday night’s match.  He suffered a knee and ankle injury in training last week.

Today’s injury report features a few noteworthy changes from Tuesday’s earlier edition.  The Revolution will take on the Colorado Rapids in Foxborough tomorrow night.

Edgaras Jankauskas and Niko Colaluca, both of whom were listed as questionable on Tuesday, are not listed at all.  Whether these two would play has been the basis of much Revs talk over the last week.  Now we know that they will both be available.  Jankauskas could help the Revs given his prowess as a possession-based player — a place where coach Steve Nicol has said the club needs to improve — and Colaluca will be fired up to face his old team.
